Using SoundCloud as a central repository for your music is great. But SoundCloud does not offer a solution for all use cases such as selling your music. Luckily, the SoundCloud API opens the door to connect a web shop to your account and sell your music online (or mobile).
The web shop is setup with Drupal. Here are the instructions to get it up and running:
- Download and install the UberDrupal installation profile
- If you have shell access to your server, install Drush for the ease of use for the next installation steps
- Update all the modules to the latest releases ($ drush pm-update)
- Download & install the SoundCloud module, as well as Feeds for pulling in your audio files from SoundCloud
- Get the experimental SoundCloud_commerce contrib module and install it
- Create the content type for selling your music using the CCK export file
- ... this write up is not finished yet. I will do this later with some more technical details, the outstanding issues and future ideas
Requirements at the site of SoundCloud:
- You need a Premium account
- Set your music private (shot)
- Make them downloadable (shot)
